Barkingside SNT Community Update |
Barkingside Safer Neighbourhood Team is aware of residents' concerns regarding street drinking and associated behaviour which may cause harassment, alarm, distress, intimidation or public disorder within the community. Officers continue to carry out regular high-visibility patrols in and around Gants Hill, Gaysham Avenue and Woodford Avenue, including a number of joint operations with Redbridge Enforcement Officers (REO) and other policing teams. We are working collaboratively with our partners to identify issues, gather intelligence and take appropriate action where necessary. We want to reassure residents that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated within our ward. Locations that have been brought to our attention remain subject to ongoing monitoring and targeted patrols, particularly during peak times when concerns are most frequently reported. Where appropriate, Redbridge Council Enforcement Officers have powers under the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to direct individuals to leave an area and issue Fixed Penalty Notices where breaches are identified. In addition, where street drinking is linked to anti-social behaviour, harassment, alarm, distress, intimidation or disorder, police officers will take appropriate action, including the issuing of Anti-Social Behaviour Warnings and consideration of further enforcement measures where necessary. We encourage residents to continue reporting incidents as they occur, as community information plays a vital role in helping us target resources effectively and maintain a safe environment for everyone. Barkingside SNT remains committed to tackling anti-social behaviour, protecting our communities and ensuring residents feel safe in their local area.
Kindest Regards SNT Barkingside PCSO7005EA Martin K
